Inspiration
As a designer, I find inspiration from many sources;
my travels, fine art, nature, fashion, people and of course great interiors!
Here are some images of interiors that have captured my attention most recently.
The first two photos below are fashion designer Cynthia Rowley’s Greek Revival Townhouse which was featured in Elle Decor.
A magical interior that is whimsical, glamorous and very chic. Beautiful!

Japanese inspired patterned wallpaper designed by Rowley acts as artwork in the dining room. Love the upholstery fabric and color palette.

Gallery white walls , dark wood floors/rug and light window treatments create an nice backdrop to the traditional furniture. Elegant yet contemporary and not too formal. And you've got to love the plastic lined piano ice bucket!

This Georgian Revival home by designer Robert Kaner was featured in Metropolitan Home and is truly magnificent.

The bold wall color paired with the contemporary light fixture keep it fresh, not staid. Great chairs.

I really like how the traditional black and white flooring becomes graphic and bold when paired with the clean white walls that are free of the typical mouldings. The mid-century chandelier is sculptural and fantastic!

I absolutely fell in love with the apartment below when I saw it in Elle Decor.
Designer Rafael de Cardenas created a beautiful interior that mixes many styles of pieces
yet achieves a cohesive pulled together and elegant aesthetic.
The color palette is gorgeous and is successfully applied
throughout the entire apartment without becoming monotonous.

Finally, the cover of Elle Decor for May was this Washington DC home
by interior designer Elizabeth Martin. It is the inspiration
for one of my current projects on Long Island, New York.

The color scheme and transitional style of furniture are a particular inspiration for my project. It's slightly formal, yet comfortable and fun with elements such as the Moroccan poufs.

Another view of the Living room. Doing similar bookcases flanking a fireplace with back painted walls for my client.
