A Good Deal: Garden Stools

Anyone else out there sad about the end of the home magazine Domino? Perhaps as much as the magazine itself, I miss their daily website feature called “The Deal Hunter” that was penned by the witty and adorable Nick Olson. For “The Deal Hunter”, Nick would find furniture and accessories that packed a lot of style for (mostly) affordable prices. This idea is also similar to the popular High/Low feature in Metropolitan Home magazine.

Inspired by Mr. Olson and MetHome, and in an effort to illustrate how good design and style can be attainable to all, I am going to do a weekly post called “A Good Deal”.  Since this is beach and barbecue season, I thought it was fitting to do the first post on Garden Stools.  These little pops of colorful style are not limited to the outdoors, however, and can be just as useful indoors as a extra table or seat. The image above is from Gumps, the fantastic (and fantastically expensive!) home store based out of San Francisco.  Their Yellow Garden Stool is priced at $295 while this Green version below that I found on Overstock is nearly identical and only $107!

Great post!! This is an awesome idea, and you did a good job of pointing out what’s similar and what’s different in each piece. (I read your comment on Nick’s blog.) Best of luck!

I love the garden stools! I would like to incorporate these into my sunroom. I especially like the koi design. Thanks for sharing!
